I know it's not uncommon for some of you, but it hasn't snowed properly in our part of the UK for three years, so we were a teensy bit excited when we woke up this morning and went for a walk by the canal as soon as it was light and we'd eaten our porridge.
Proper quantities. Oh lor' ain't the littlies getting big now! Especially Keiki - it doesn't seem that long ago that he was significantly shorter than Humuhumu. If he carries on at that rate he's going to outgrow both parents I should think. Love the under-the-bridge photo - the light is very special. Telstar's giving you quite a Hard Stare!
It's tough to predict how Keiki will turn out. Humuhumu is entirely modeled on the bloke's sister, and will be long and slim. Keiki is the spit of my dad (who is 5'7") in face, personality, and appetite. But every other male in the family is at least 6' so who knows.
Telstar was seeking a snowless spot to have his morning piddle, and was not very pleased that I kept sticking the camera in his face during his trials. :P
It was a joyful morning. I'm hoping that what's stuck around will be enhanced by further cover tonight, and thus tomorrow morning will include sledging.
Well, precisely, and that is why he has spent the rest of the day following me about and sitting on my be-slippered feet, to keep his belly warm, because that's what I'm for.
Heh. I was like "how hard could it be to find nanila? We just keep walking on the canal, look for a black cat and a small boy throwing himself into locks"
I love that hat too, although it's beginning to lose structural integrity; it's eleven years old. When it does finally fail, it'll be time for a return to Iceland.
One of the bits of local folklore of which we were informed when we moved in was that a previous occupant of our cottage had lost TWO husbands to the canal. With darkly significant looks.

Nothing here so far, but the Met Office warning stretches as far South as London, so just a little bit of variation from that and we might get some,

All the womenfolk are much shorter except my niece who tops me by four inches.
I'm 5'6". Clearly someone was telling me something! :o)

We had snow on December 4th, but only briefly, and nothing since.

And what a lovely walk. I love the look of that pub(?) by the canal.
