🤮

More seriously, I am Not Happy about the probable damage that is going to be done to the disadvantaged, the vulnerable, the foreign (hi!), the fabric of the social safety net, to name but a few things, if this is correct.

Let me guess.. tory win? [I've been avoid the news, don't need the stress.]

Just checked, predicted tory majority.. with only 12 seats out of 300+ declared. I wouldn't say it's decided yet.

my money is it being a hung parliament again, with maybe Labour lead just.. best case scenario; Labour/Lib-dem alliance with enough seats to tell the Tories to get stuffed.

At a certain point, I may have to shelve wanting to believe that other places look at the States and go "No! Not like that. Never like that!" and then go out and make sure they do not do the same thing.

Staring at your present, my future, with dread

You've got my condolences.

Living in a country still in an era much like that of Obama in the States — ie, with a neo-liberal government that says nice things about the environment and human rights and indigenous peoples, all while screwing the above along with the working classes — I can only foresee a similar horror coming to Canada soon. If not at the next election, then surely the one thereafter.

I am angry and frightened, and frankly at a loss as to what to do about it; Canada's version of the Labour Party is still in a Blairite phase, only without any hope of gaining power.

I’m so sad and angry this morning. I’m not exactly blindsided in the way I was after the 2016 referendum but I’m feeling the same levels of heartbreak. Ugh.

I'm sad and angry and a little bit despairing this morning. The despairing bit will pass but I'm not sure how the most vulnerable are going to survive the next five years or what I can do to convince people that kindness is more important than selfishness in the future.

Btw, I can do Brum on the 19th if that's not too close to the Santa season?

It is even worse this morning. Welsh mining town Labour has had since 1950 went blue. I mean. *wails*

It’s the result I expected given recent history, but I really hoped to be surprised. *sigh*
