I don't think I did explain it in the original post where I set out these goals, though I did expound on it a little in the comments. I dislike Facebook, for political and personal reasons. I find the way they use people's data abhorrent. It's also very, very scary that the company won't take any serious action against deliberate distribution of lies on a scale that can influence elections.
I don't find the interaction there terribly satisfying. I can spend a lot of time on it and feel like I haven't really connected properly with anyone. I get the opposite here - even if I don't spend long on my journal or my reading lists, I feel as if I get a lot out of it.
